We had a busy week in the Flower Market for Valentine’s Day. We were lucky to have Cory McCloskey come down for a visit to see all the hustle & bustle, plus the great deals. We love having Cory “in the house.” He’s so funny!
We hosted our second Wedding Weekend full of design classes, led by team member Krista. We kicked it off Friday afternoon with a Wine & Floral Design Bouquet Class. These are BYOB Classes & they’re very popular. Garden flowers such as Roses, Hydrangea, Lilac, Lisianthus and Tender Vines paired unexpectedly with a dried floral accent or two in loose natural stylings to create an elegant yet comfortable feel. Back-to-back classes continued on Saturday the 25th, Centerpieces, Arches/Canopies and Corsages/Boutonnieres. Some gals took all 3 or all 4 classes!
Guest instructor Brian Vetter, AAF, AzMF, AIFD, PCFI showed the class how to create 2 different styles of bouquets using the same flowers! they first created the popular European style spiral hand tied design that is trending right now. Then they dissasembled it and created a classic traditional foam based bouquet. Both were beautiful!
We hosted our second Flower Badge Design Class exclusively for Junior Girl Scouts. Arizona Flower Market is a new Program Partner of the Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus-Pine Council. Team member Louria led the girls through the 5 activity steps needed to acquire their Flower Badge right here in the Market! They made collages and flower arrangements to take home and at the end of the workshop each girl received her official Flower Badge!
Our 5th annual Flower for Food Donation Drive benefiting St. Vincent de Paul was a huge success! We gathered a ton of food and everyone that donated received 2 free bunches of sunflowers. We can’t think of a more worthy organization than St. Vincent de Paul. they work tirelessly to help our community with many being volunteers. Our customers always come out strong to support our efforts.
