Fill each bud vase with water. If you have a packet of flower food, add the packet to the water before filling the vases. Flower food contains important nutrients that help your colorful blooms last longer!
Trim 1/2 inch off of the bottom of each Gerbera stem. This opens up new channels for the flowers to drink up fresh water.
Arrange in the bud vase. Depending on the width of the opening on your bud vase, 2-3 stems should fit snugly together. You can vary the number of stems per vase based on the number of vases you want to fill. You can vary the height of each Gerbera in the vase by cutting more or less off of the stem.
Time to add embellishments!
Florist Tip: If the copper wire does not want to stay in place, tie the wire to the stem of the daisy with a piece of string.
Add your own twist to this do-it-yourself project by using different flowers. Carnations, lilies and tulips are just a few options that are easy for kids to arrange in a bud vase.
